Santa 2020

A bit different this year

Twas the week before Christmas,
but throughout the Earth,
all the people were feeling
a terrible dearth
of the joy of the season
of love and good cheer,
because of the horrid
pandemic this year.

Santa was holed up
in self-quarantine.
The elves all were wondering
just what it would mean
to children still trying
to somehow believe,
if Santa could not come
on this Christmas Eve.

Frau Claus, though, still thinking
and loath to be bested,
said, “Santa snap out of
this funk and get tested”.
I’ve knit up a mask
for each magic reindeer,
So you and the elves
better get it in gear!
